First artwork of 2025!
The latest piece from the Memory series, Memory XXII is 24in X 18in unframed. Like all works in this series, it was created by spraying acrylic paint through found vintage and antique crochet doilies. After applying the paint, I then stitched through and crocheted on top of the paper with found fiber. While I've been working on this series for a few years now, the visible needle stitches in this piece are unusually more delicate and small compared to the way I've typically handled them in the past. I use the same materials and processes for these works, however each one still elicits different and adapting responses from me as I engage with each separate composition. Comments are closed.
