Memory XVI, the latest piece from the Memory series, is finished. I took a bit of a different approach with this piece and utilized a relatively symmetrical composition instead of going with my more typical inclination of asymmetrical. This work, 24in X 18in unframed, was created by spraying acrylic paint through found vintage and antique crochet doilies. After applying the paint, I then stitched through and crocheted on top of the paper with found fiber. The original is not currently available as the plan is to include it in a solo show that's scheduled for the end of October but print options are now available at Society 6 and Redbubble.
Four works from the Memory Series are included in volume 9 of Envision Arts Magazine.
Until midnight tonight, January 5th, an e-version is on sale at half off the regular price. The hard copy version will be available starting tomorrow, January 6th. Three works from the Memory series were accepted into the virtual exhibition Geometric Variation at Site:Brooklyn Gallery. All three works are 20in X 16in unframed. This includes the hand cut paper mounting each is attached to with stitching. The show will run from November 15, 2022 to December 15, 2022 on the Site:Brooklyn Gallery website.
