I completed Memory XXIII in 2025 but just got around to finally framing it recently.
The latest piece from the Memory series, it is 24in X 18in unframed. Like all works in this series, it was created by spraying acrylic paint through found vintage and antique crochet doilies.
After applying the paint, I then stitched through and crocheted on top of the paper with found fiber.

The latest piece from the Memory series, Memory XXII is 24in X 18in unframed. Like all works in this series, it was created by spraying acrylic paint through found vintage and antique crochet doilies. After applying the paint, I then stitched through and crocheted on top of the paper with found fiber. While I've been working on this series for a few years now, the visible needle stitches in this piece are unusually more delicate and small compared to the way I've typically handled them in the past.
I use the same materials and processes for these works, however each one still elicits different and adapting responses from me as I engage with each separate composition.

Doily Divergency, a solo exhibition featuring multiple series of work that incorporate found and artist made doilies, opens Saturday, July 6th and runs until July 28th at Green Lantern Studios in Mineral Point, Wisconsin. New works and pieces on display for the first time from the Memory series, Stains, Odds & Ends, and Studies are included.
